Singapore-based Shopee has replaced US e-commerce giant Amazon to be the number 1 e-commerce application worldwide this year, according to data published by Adjust and Sensor Tower, a market intelligence provider of global application economy. Last year, the champion of global e-commerce application went to Amazon.
Session lengths prolonged this year to 10.56 minutes, up from 10.07 minutes in 2019, it said. The largest increase was seen from Latin American (27%), compared to global level at 12% growth, data showed. Asia and EMEA was at a similar growth level as world average at 10% and 13%, respectively.
Installs of global e-commerce application was up 10%, with a 12% increase in conversation between shoppers and merchants, it added.
Average monthly active users among top 150 e-commerce application surged to 18 million in 3Q21, from 14 million in 1Q19, data said.

The platform is available in 15 countries including France, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Columbia, Chile, Mexico and India, other than Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
